Warre’s Vintage 1985 Ruby
159,89 €
Very, very dark. Sweet, spicy, licorice nose. Very broad start to taste and then dried fruits on the finish. Lots of firm tannins yet. Still relatively embryonic. Heat in the finish. Lovely spice in the finish. It’s not Warre’s most stereotypical style of wine. Powerful finish. Almost muscled with some fruit and wild flower flavors on the nose.

Great volume on the palate with a vibrant, fresh acidity, firm, high-quality tannins, floral notes of stew and notes of black fruit and chocolate. A great invitation for the very long and elegant finale. Using the traditional technology of Port Wine, this wine was vinified in the Quinta do Seixo winery, grapes originating both there and in Quinta do Vau. In addition to the selection process, the grapes were subjected to crushing and stalking before undergoing a very intense maceration during alcoholic fermentation, by treading on granite wineries at controlled temperatures automatically. The balance and harmony of this wine, as well as its body and structure, result from the selection of the best grapes, the intensity of the maceration and the choice of the right moment to stop the fermentation.
