Blandy’s Malmsey 1999 aged 16 years in used American Oak casks, and like all the family’s Harvest, it matured in the Blandy’s Wine Lodge warehouses, where it was successively transferred from the hottest warehouse, known as “Loft of the Almond ”, where it aged for the first 5 years, to the second floor, and remained there for 7 years until it was finally transferred to the first floor, where it rested for 4 years, until it was bottled. The grapes were vinified in an oil press, in the open spout system, and fermented until they had about 7%. Fermentation was stopped with the addition of neutral alcohol of wine origin. Contains sulfites.

Manual harvest, with qualitative selection, for several weeks according to the state of maturation. Bed system, in 650 L casks (little barrels) at room temperature until the month of bottling. Amber color with golden nuance, bright crystalline. Characteristic bouquet, with notes of jams and marmalade, crystallized fruits, walnut and hazelnut nuts. Very rich, soft, sweet, enveloping and simultaneously fresh with a long aftertaste of wood and dried fruit macerated in brandy.

Aging took place in 2 casks, over 50 years old from warmer and drier warehouses situated on the upper floors of the wineries in Funchal - Blandy`s Madeira Lodge. It has a topaz color with golden reflections, greenish-gold nuances, brilliant crystalline and slow halo tear. Intense and complex aroma, highlighting the bouquet of wood wine composed of characteristic elements such as spices and vanilla. Contains sulfites.

Blandy's Malmsey 10 years ferment with natural yeasts at a temperature of 18 to 21ºC in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature. Approximately after 48 hours, the fortification is carried out with wine alcohol (96%), in order to preserve the desired natural sugar content. It is aged for 10 years in American oak casks according to the traditional 'Canteiro' process. This includes a delicate heating of the wine in the attic of the warehouses in Funchal. Over the years, the wine is transferred from the upper floors to the intermediate floors, and eventually to the floor level where it is cooler. After this 'gradual stuffing', the wine is filtered and clarified before being bottled. Intense golden brown color, with almost greenish reflections. Intense and complex nose, revealing a bouquet of wood, dried fruits, caramel and spices. Sweet, fresh and soft, full-bodied and slightly smoked. Very balanced acidity. Contains sulfites.

Blandy's Duke of Clarence underwent a fermentation of the films with natural yeasts, at temperatures between 24ºC and 26ºC, in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature. After about 48 hours, it was fortified with wine alcohol (96%), thus stopping fermentation when the desired sweetness level was reached. It was transferred to greenhouse tanks, where it was subjected to a cyclical heating and cooling process, with temperatures between 45ºC and 50ºC, for three months. Completed the stuffing, the wine matured in American oak casks for three years. Then it was filtered and clarified before being bottled. Loaded golden brown, with honey and raisins on the nose. Full-bodied and soft. Excellent for the end of a dinner. Contains sulfites.
