Textura da Estrela Jaen comes from a single plot in Vila Nova de Tazem (Serra da Estrela sub-region). Vineyards aged 28 years in granitic soils, sustainably treated, without herbicides, have been converting to organic certification since 2020. This Jaen fermented with indigenous yeasts only in cement vats with 35% whole bunch followed by 30 days of cuvaison. After aging the 1st winter in cement, it spent 6 months in French oak barrels. Naturally stabilized. Open color red with mineral and stone powder character, typical of cement tanks. Slight pepper and delicate fruit. It shows elegant tannins and is marked in the mouth by the granitic minerality, which often contributes to its peppery side. Long and precise acidity. With the potential to turn out to be different in a few years. Contains sulfites.

Textura da Estrela Rose

Granitic soils, altitude, sustainable farming practices and zero herbicides are just the beginning of this unique rosé wine. In Vila Nova de Tazem (Serra da Estrela sub-region) a 28-year-old vine of 100% hand-harvested Tinta Roriz grows. The commitment since 2020 to an option for organic farming in all our vineyards. The tear must ferments with indigenous yeasts in used 225 L French oak barrels. The wine ages for 11 months “sur lie” without batonnage and another 8 months in stainless steel. Naturally stabilized, it may show turbidity or deposit. A rosé wine with a more concentrated color, onion skin with hints of copper. Delicate aromas of red fruits and fermentation, like brioche. In the mouth, it has remarkable acidity and minerality, with touches of spices, especially black pepper. It has a dense yet elegant texture, quite salivating at the end as it calls for food. Extremely gastronomic. Contains sulfites.

Pretexto White

Pretexto White is a blend of traditional Dão grapes from high altitude vineyards and granitic soils, hand-picked. White Pretext was statically decanted and naturally fermented in stainless steel and cement vats. This was followed by a stage on lees in the same deposits and only 10% in new French oak barrels. Delicate aromas associated with the character of white fruit from the region such as Bravo de Esmolfe apple. Mineral notes respecting the granite soils that originate it. The mouth accompanies the fruit on its more citrusy side, combined with a good freshness. Very pleasant, with some creaminess and a very dry, saline and long finish. It is a blend that speaks for the vineyards and soils that originate it. Contains sulfites.

Textura Pura Magnum White

Coming from the 28-55 year old Texture vineyards in Vila Nova de Tazem, in the Serra da Estrela sub-region, at an altitude of 480-550 m, on granitic soils. The tear must naturally fermented in new French oak (70%) and foudre (30%) barrels. Aged for 11 months “sur lie” without batonnage, followed by 10 months in stainless steel tanks. Naturally stabilized. It is a very elegant wine, with delicate citrus aromas, mainly lemon and lime, cedar, pepper and even a noticeable oak. Acidity and crunchy minerality, it shows great potential despite the concentration of still young, dense and creamy old vines. Long and pleasant finish. Contains sulfites.

Pretexto Red

Pretexto is a Portuguese red wine produced with grapes from different vineyards in the Dão region. These grapes came 90% from Penalva do Castelo (Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz) from vineyards at an altitude of 550-620 meters in quartz and clay soils and 10% from Vila Nova de Tazem (Touriga Nacional) from vineyards in soils of granite and at an altitude of 480-550 meters. All these vineyard plots are currently being converted to organic certification. It was fermented in stainless steel tanks with 30% whole bunch, followed by a 30-day cuvaison. The final batch aged in French oak vats (5000 L) and in barrels for 11 months. Naturally stabilized. With delicate aromas and lively red fruit character, the most evident being the cherry. The mouth accompanies the fruit combined with good acidity, some carbonic notes and a mentholated and balsamic profile. Soft tannins, pleasant herbaceous from the use of the whole bunch and good length in the aftertaste. It is an elegant wine with the typical freshness of the Dão region. Contains sulfites.
