Reception with destemming and immediate crushing. Fermentation in stainless steel vats of 18 tons capacity, with tanning at around 26ºC. Intense and prolonged macerations and partial malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Stage for 10 months in new and used French oak barrels. The stage begins to obtain a wine of great aromatic elegance, where the aromas of the Douro are not masked by the excess of barrel notes. Very smooth and well-ripened tannins, fresh and aromatic, very elegant, with an unusually long finish.
Niepoort Batuta Red
The ripening period was less hot than usual and fresh temperatures allowed the grapes to have a good total acidity, an essential factor for a fresh and balanced palate. After a careful selection, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, the fermentation took place in trunk-conical stainless vats and wooden vats, with maceration for about 60 days. It was then aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, of which 25% was new wood, where malolactic fermentation took place. Batuta shows a beautiful ruby color, intense and alive. A deep and complex aroma, although slightly restrained, its mineral and forest profile is in full harmony with the barrel notes. Over time in the glass, the wine will show several layers, in a very elegant register, with fresh spices such as black pepper and cloves. Slim and elegant in the mouth, with a silky texture and firm structure, it features very polished and luxurious tannins. Deep and multidimensional. Although young, it impresses by its balance. Carvalhas Vinhas Velhas Red
Impressive aromatic exuberance highlighting notes of red fruits and black fruit allied to nuances herbacias and spices demonstrating a harmonious integration with oak wood through subtle notes of vanilla. Excellent volume of evidence, proving to be potent but at the same time elegant with a concentration and depth of low yielding vineyards. Tannins firm and very round, with flavors enhanced by a balanced acidity that makes the taste long and persistent. Contains Sulfites.
Quinta do Crasto Touriga Franca Red
The grapes, from the best plots of Touriga Franca at Quinta do Crasto, were transported in boxes of 22 kg capacity and subjected to rigorous sorting at the entrance to the cellar. After a complete destemming and a slight crushing, the must was transferred to fermentation vats in stainless steel with controlled temperature. At the end of the alcoholic fermentation, a soft pressing was carried out. Quinta do Crasto Touriga Franca 2016 aged in French oak barrels where it remained for 18 months. It has a deep violet color. On the nose, it impresses with its intensity and concentration of red fruit aromas in perfect harmony with soft floral notes. In the mouth tasting it presents an intense start, evolving into an elegant profile wine, with excellent volume of mouth and silky texture tannins, all very well integrated with notes of red fruits. It ends in perfect balance, with an extraordinary persistence and full of freshness. A wine that perfectly reflects the identity of the variety. Contains sulfites.
