Quinta da Boavista Vinha do Ujo Magnum Red
295,00 €
Located near Pinhão on the right bank of the Douro and boasting a spectacular view over the river, Quinta da Boavista is one of the most iconic properties in the demarcated region, known not only for its historical connection to Baron of Forrester, but also for its 40 hectares of high-quality vineyards. Vinha do Ujo was planted in 1930 on pre-phylloxera horizontal terraces, with the soil supported by small schist walls. Its more than 25 grape varieties are spread across small, west-facing terraces. The vineyard ranges in altitude from 180 to 210 metres. Wine of intense, deep red colour. An impressive aroma that takes us to a bergamot orchard, fresh wild aromas, as well as floral and mineral notes, demonstrating superb complexity and depth. On the palate it reveals itself as unique, impressing with its finesse and beautiful integration with the wood. Long and persistent. Manual harvest, destemming and gentle crushing of the grapes. Fermentation of the grapes takes place in new 500-litre French oak barrels. After a maceration period, the resulting wine continues its ageing for 16 months in 225-litre barrels, also of French oak.
Contains sulphites.
