Niepoort Vintage 2019 Ruby

All components of the Vintage 2019 were foot-trodden in granite lagares with 100% stem inclusion. The wines were racked shortly after the harvest, ageing in the Douro in tonéis over the winter. The appearance is marked by a marvellous dark-purple rim and great depth of colour. The aroma is fine and moderate, with primary notes of dark fruits and some spices. The true style and potential of this wine come together on the palate, with a wonderful integration of dark fruits and a grainy tannic structure; an extraordinary balance between volume and elegance, resulting in an impressive finish. In short, the primary fruit on the palate may be appealing at this stage, but it is the balanced tannic structure that points to this wine’s great ageing potential in the future. Contains sulphites.
