Born from the old vines of the Douro and drawn from a tiny handful of casks, Verídico 1900 Very Very Old Tawny sits at the very top of the Port classification. Matured over decades in the century-old cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia under the hand of winemaker Dirk Niepoort and José Dias, it arrives as the opening chapter of a trilogy of exceptional Tawnies, a rarity limited to 150 numbered bottles presented in Vista Alegre crystal.

Tasting Notes

Opulent and seductive, it reveals a core of honey and butter caramel, followed by dried peach and plum and a cool breath of mint and eucalyptus. The palate turns sweet and mellow, layering an abundance of fruit in remarkable balance, lifted by a vibrant acidity that keeps everything fresh. The finish runs long and intricate, leaving an exotic impression that lingers well beyond the last sip.

Served between 10 and 14 °C, Verídico 1900 shows its full breadth alongside nut based desserts, dark chocolate or aged cheeses, yet it is just as memorable sipped on its own when the moment calls for celebration.
