The production of this 30-year-old wine is based on a blend of the best years from various decades of the Bual grape variety, with an average age of 32 years, the youngest being around 11 years old and the oldest 47 years, made exclusively from Boal grapes harvested on the sunny slopes of Campanário and Estreito da Calheta. Open vat winemaking, in pipes, with fortification before the end of the last third of fermentation. The Blandy’s 30 Years Bual aged in old 650-litre American oak casks until the blend was assembled. It then ‘married’ in a satin wood vat where it remained for about 6 months until stabilising. Before bottling, it underwent light filtration. Exuberant, rich and creamy, with spicy citrus peel, dried apricot and roasted peach flavours, interwoven by vibrant acidity. Pure and mineral, with white pepper notes. It culminates in an endless finish filled with a complex mix of savoury herbal details. Contains sulphites.
