Wine Region of April

A standout region, with its differences and particularities.

Beira Interior Wine Region

Beira Interior, the highest Portuguese wine region.

In recent years, Beira Interior has doubled the number of producers, increasing demand and also recognition for its wines.

Characterized by white wines of great aromatic exuberance and much freshness and red wines with complex aromas of wild berries and spices, combined with a striking freshness.

This region produces white, red, rosé, and palhete wines, as well as quality natural sparkling wines, contributed to by the great variety of grape varieties that have allowed the constant discovery of new aromas and flavors.

Traditional grape varieties find here the possibility to fully assert themselves. It is in the valleys and mountains that the traditional white grapes Síria, Arinto, and Fonte Cal share space and time with the red grapes Rufete, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Jaen, and Trincadeira.

Beira Interior wants to increasingly assert itself as a region of excellence and quality in wine production and occupy its rightful place alongside the great Portuguese wine regions.
