Grand Choices Awards: The excellence of wine and gastronomy in Portugal
Cave Lusa was present at the Grand Choices Awards event, reinforcing its commitment to the wine sector and to valuing the best that is produced in Portugal. Keeping a close eye on the sector’s evolution, supporting the professionals who daily elevate the quality of Portuguese wines, and celebrating the excellence that distinguishes our production nationally and internationally is a constant concern for the company.
More than a moment of recognition, the initiative also represents an opportunity for sharing, inspiration, and highlighting the work of producers, winemakers, grape growers, chefs, and all those who contribute to the dynamism of the wine world. The Awardees
During the ceremony, the following awards were presented
Revelation Producer – Altas Quintas
Altas Quintas was founded in 2004, in the Serra de São Mamede, Portalegre, and since the beginning, has been associated with an Alentejo region marked by its altitude.
Located in the westernmost part of the Douro, Quinta da Rede has seen its white, rosé, and red wines gain deserved recognition.
Carmim wins this deserved trophy for the second consecutive year.
Company – Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges
Founded 142 years ago, Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges is present in the Vinho Verde, Douro, and Dão regions, where it has over 330 hectares of vineyards.
Fortified Wine Company – Real Companhia Velha
The oldest Port wine houses always hold large stocks of wines, symbols of ancient eras, and Real Companhia Velha is one of these companies, possessing true hidden treasures.
Singularity Award – Materramenta
The emergence of new Azorean producers is one of the greatest recent joys in the Portuguese wine world.
