These vineyards are located in the sub-region of Silgueiros at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters. This variety is recognized for having smooth leaves, a short distance between the knots and a bright green hue. The vine is grown within an integrated protection program: the use of herbicides is prohibited. Infestation control is achieved through soil movement. The grape harvest is made by hand, caste by caste, when the ideal point of maturation is reached, usually in the second half of September. The harvest is collected in small boxes of 10 kg. These wines are obtained after fermentation at a controlled temperature in order to preserve their aromatic elegance in large wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks for 20 days. The wine is produced by malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and has a subsequent maturation period of 18 months to enhance its structure and complexity. Quinta de Lemos Jaen 2009 has a red fruit aroma, of great exuberance, slightly touch of raspberry, floral notes resinous of this variety, mint. The palate is very balanced, sensual and with a tasty finish. Contains Sulfites.
