Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca
Susana Esteban, Sandra Tavares da Silva
Crochet is a four-handed wine that faithfully translates the colossal and untamed spirit of the Douro. A wine made by two friends, Susana Esteban and Sandra Tavares da Silva, winemakers who share not only a relationship of deep friendship but a common passion for wine and a sensitivity and visions similar to what the Douro can and can offer. Two winemakers who joined efforts to produce this Douro wine that brings together the feeling and the common experience of many harvests together and separated. Manual fermentation in 15 kg boxes with strict selection at the entrance of the cellar. Vinification in stainless steel with post fermentation maceration. Stage of 18 months in French oak barrels 40% new and 60% second year. Red color retinta. Fruity but compact, almost monolithic, it alternates between the delicacy of the fruit and an intensely mineral profile surprising for the softness of the tannins, the aromatic depth and the vehemence of the structure. Tense and serious, it is a rigorous and well-educated red that presents itself fine and elegant.
